This day is famous due to the events occurred on the 10th day of Muharram in 7th century. Shias people mourn the death of Imam Hussain, the third Shias Imam.
Shahriar (1906_ September 18, 1988) was a renown Iranian poet, from Tabriz_ East Azarbaijan, who wrote in Persian and Azarbaijani languages. Shahriar’s commemoration is annually held on the day of Persian poetry and literature.
The traditional and religious custom of the carpet cleaners who are from Khaveh Ardehal village- Kashan province, is held every year on the second Friday of Mehr (November) at Mashhad Ardehal (42 km west of the city of Kashan). It is the only religious custom that is held according to the solar calendar. This tradition is registered in the list of both spiritual works of the country and UNESCO’s spiritual and cultural heritage (December, 2012).
Mehregan or Mehr as one of the Iranian festivals is held annually from October 8 to 14 or the first days of autumn (16 to 22 Mehr).
